How to craft
Introduction
In Mini World, Toolboxes are no longer a thing as a result of the Void Phantom warping the functions of many blocks and items. Initially, they had been separated into four crafting table tiers, each with more powerful crafting recipes, then merged into two similar tiers. In this Veteran's Guide, we'll talk about the current system for crafting, with comparisons to the older versions of this process.
Main guide
When you start playing the survival mode, you can initially craft using your inventory. However, this way of crafting is quite limited and most items need to be made with a crafting table.
Thus, as a starting point, you must craft an Incomplete Crafting Table with 2 pieces of Timber and 8 Stones.
Interface guide
The interface of a(n Incomplete) Crafting Table is structured like this:
- Two tabs: Craft and Tool repair.
- Inside the Craft tab…
- There are six categories: Basic, Equipment, Tools, Material, Construction, and Machinery. Each category has its own subcategories which can be expanded to see their craftable items. They can also be expanded all at once by changing the switch at the top right to [All] instead of [Sort].
- Items can be crafted by tapping or clicking on them, then on [Craft]. If successful, the required materials will be consumed and will yield the expected item(s).
- It's possible to craft multiple of an item type by using the arrows and counter above the [Craft] button.
- (For Incomplete Crafting Tables only) Items on which the player has no ingredients in their inventory for crafting will be darkened and obscured behind a question mark.
- Inside the Tool repair tab…
- The player can select any of their damaged tools and repair them by using their corresponding materials or Stars.
Upgrading to a Crafting Table
To upgrade an Incomplete Crafting Table, you must place a Creation Crystal by tapping on or right-clicking it so that it turns into a Crafting Table. To get creation crystals, look for any Void Apostles during the night or in dark places. They look like flying monsters hooded in black, with a single big blue eye.
Crafting tables have all craftable items revealed even if you don't have the necessary ingredients for them. Note that some of these items require you to unlock their recipes by doing certain actions in-game and not by merely using a crafting table.
When compared to older versions' crafting mechanics
Before 0.54.1
- There was only a single crafting table tier: the toolbox. It acted in a way similar to an Incomplete Crafting Table: items were visible if the player had at least one of their ingredients, and craftable if they had all of them. However, it couldn't repair tools.
Before 0.59.3
- There were five (four being functional) tiers of crafting tables, with each superior tier having more features and items to craft:
- Empty Crafting Tables were a type of crafting table that didn't actually craft anything, but was the baseplate for all other crafting table tiers. This is because the toolbox, the repair bench, and the enchantment box were revamped and merged into one final and powerful tier. The tiers are as follows:
- Stone Crafting Tables were capable of only crafting items. They could only craft basic-tier items but more than what was craftable inside the backpack. It's the equivalent to a Toolbox, and all of them were replaced with this crafting table tier. A Stone Creation Hammer needed to be placed in an Empty Crafting Table to obtain this tier.
- Copper Crafting Tables were capable of repairing tools, on top of also crafting more advanced items (up one tier). To repair a tool, both the tool and the materials must have been added to the table, and the price in Stars to repair it will depend on the restored durability. This was the equivalent to a Repair Bench, and all of them were replaced with this tier. A Brass Creation Hammer needed to be placed in an Empty Crafting Table to obtain this tier.
- Iron Crafting Tables were capable of enchanting, on top of the Copper Crafting Table's abilities (plus, it could craft more advanced items (up one tier)). The enchanting system had also been revamped in this version, however that's beyond the scope of this article. This was equivalent to a Enchantment Box, and all of them were replaced with this tier. An Iron Creation Hammer needed to be placed in an Empty Crafting Table to obtain this tier.
- Titanium Crafting Tables had the highest crafting tier (capable of crafting every craftable item) and all the features from other crafting tables, along with rune synthesis, which allowed for the merging of two appraised runes in order to get an upgraded version of one of the two runes. A Titanium Creation Hammer needed to be placed in an Empty Crafting Table to obtain this tier.
Before 1.7.x
- Empty, stone, copper, and iron crafting tables were replaced with the Incomplete Crafting Table, a crafting table which functions very similarly to the current system. It can be upgraded to a crafting table with a creation crystal or obtained by already owning a titanium crafting table. Crafting tables are no longer capable of enchanting; this purpose has been transferred to the new Rune Table.
Current
- The interface of crafting tables has received various changes to condense information and items more efficiently, mostly on the crafting section. This includes:
- The seven item categories have been reduced to only six, and each now has different subcategories to find relevant items easily. The subcategories can be disabled to show all items in the category.
