A shield is a tool in Mini World: CREATA, used to block incoming attacks.
When a shield is raised (by holding the Use button (mobile) or the right mouse button (PC)), any attacks or projectiles heading into the player's field of view will be blocked, at a cost of some of the shield's Resilience and durability. The Resilience loss depends on the strength of the projectile, the creature, or the weapon's attacks that were blocked by the shield. However, all blocked attacks only cost the shield 1 durability, regardless of the strength of that attack.
Shields can only block attacks a certain amount of times before their Resilience drops to zero and temporarily shatter. When a player's shield is shattered, the player will get temporarily stunned and weakened for two seconds, which won't let them perform any actions and they'll receive 20% more damage during the stun. The shield will also enter a cooldown state of ten seconds, disabling it from being used until it expires. After the shield's cooldown expires, its Resilience bar will initially only resist one attack, so the player must not use it for a while if they want the bar to slowly fill up. For creatures, the shield will immediately fully restore its Resilience after their Resilience Break status expires.
If a creature or player who is holding a shield gets hit from behind, their shield's Resilience will still decrease and they'll get knocked back. Additionally, if it's a player, they will immediately stop wielding the shield, nullifying its protection until they manually wield it again.
A shield can be made from Timber, Brass, Titanium, Hard Scorpion Shells, or Scorpion Tails.
